Governor Shapiro Campaigns With Harvie In Bucks County

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Bucks County Commissioner and Democratic candidate for Congress Bob Harvie campaigned on Saturday in Bucks County alongside Governor Josh Shapiro.

Governor Shapiro and Harvie spoke about the importance of flipping Pennsylvania’s 1st Congressional District from red to blue to "take back control of Congress, put a check on the corruption and chaos in Washington, and lower costs" for Bucks and Montgomery County families.

During his remarks, Governor Shapiro called PA-01 the most competitive race in the Commonwealth.

“We have power here in Bucks County to change the makeup of the Congress," said Shapiro. "We have the power here in Pennsylvania to literally determine which party is going to be in the majority in the Congress of the United States."

He continued, "Here in Pennsylvania, we’ve got five competitive congressional seats right here, including the most competitive in the entire Commonwealth right here in Bucks County with Bob Harvie."

Shapiro added, "So, you have the power right here in Bucks County to decide how much wages people are going to earn in our Commonwealth, whether women are going to be able to make decisions over their own bodies, whether we're going to roll back these Medicaid and SNAP cuts, which I know a Democratic Congress will try to do.”

Harvie echoed the Governor’s remarks.

“We have lost a lot in the past 10 years. 10 years of Brian Fitzpatrick, 10 years of Donald Trump. And we have lost a lot as a country…And what has that given us? It has given us an economy that is broken."

He added, “We are going to win this race. We are going to win all these races, and we are going to put this country back on the path it was meant to be on. And it was not that long ago. A country we can be proud of, a country we can be proud to hand our children and grandchildren, a country that is strong around the world, strong at home.”

Governor Shapiro has endorsed Harvie’s campaign to unseat vulnerable Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick.

According to the Harvie campaign, polling shows that Harvie is locked in a statistical tie with Fitzpatrick in the race for Congress.
