GreenDrop Brings Sustainable Charitable Giving to Doylestown

Transformative donation drop-off service comes to Bucks County

GreenDrop—the organization revolutionizing how consumers support charities by donating clothing, shoes and household goods, celebrated the grand opening of its newest donation center in Doylestown, with the help of Doylestown Borough Mayor, Ron Strouse, Doylestown Rotary Club member Kim Arnold, and Vail Garvin of the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Wednesday, January 11, where Doylestown-area residents were invited to donate their unwanted clothing, shoes, electronics, and household goods at the GreenDrop on 4151 East Swamp Road, where they were greeted by a uniformed attendant who unloaded their goods from their car and offered them to direct their giving to one of GreenDrop’s partner charities: the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Philadelphia, Military Order of the Purple Heart, National Federation of the Blind, and the company’s newest partner, the American Red Cross. Donors who registered with GreenDrop received tax-deductible documentation for their donation.

“Our mission has always been to do good for our partner charities, the environment, and communities we operate in,” said Tony Peressini, chief executive officer of GreenDrop and resident of Doylestown. “In the past five years, our home state of Pennsylvania has seen a 22 percent increase in recycling and we are very proud to support this statistic by giving Doylestown residents an opportunity to give back in one of the most convenient ways possible.”

As GreenDrop’s 16th Pennsylvania location, the Doylestown site will help residents maintain access to recycling, while supplementing Pennsylvania’s 870 recycling drop-off programs.

Easily accessible on PA Route 313, the site was formerly a Verizon store and has been transformed into a clean, brightly lit charitable donation center where donations are protected from the elements before being converted to funding for programs and initiatives of GreenDrop’s four partner charities. In the last decade, the company has raised over $20 million for its charity partners.
