Gymboree Closing Lahaska Store

The closing sale at the Lahaska Gymboree will begin on Tuesday, July 18, the company said.

Gymboree, the popular children's clothing chain, is closing its Lahaska store, the company announced this week. The store is located at the Penn's Purchase outlet mall, just across the street from Peddler's Village.

The local store is one of company's 350 Gymboree, Janie and Jack and Crazy 8 locations across the country that will close following a "comprehensive evaluation" of the chain's retail footprint as part of a restructuring.

The closing sales at affected stores are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, July 18.

“Right-sizing our store footprint is a central part of our efforts to ensure Gymboree emerges from this restructuring process as a stronger and more competitive organization, with greater financial flexibility to invest in our future," said Daniel Griesemer, president and CEO of Gymboree.

"This was a difficult decision to make, but we are confident that it is in the best long-term interest of our company, our customers and our broader employee base," Griesemer said.
