- Here are some safety tips: wear light colored clothing, reflective material, and carry a flashlight. Motorists should drive carefully throughout the weekend. Be sure to drive cautiously and remain alert, especially when traveling through the residential neighborhoods. Be mindful of the leaves on the ground as they will most likely still be wet from the recent rain. The wet leaves are similar to ice when in contact with vehicle tires. Be aware of children potentially darting into the street from in between parked cars.
- Activate your headlights as soon as the sun begins to set.
- Trick or Treaters: Don’t trick or treat alone; always stay with a parent or a group of friends. Utilize glow sticks and reflective tape on Halloween bags to be more visible to motorists. Do not assume that drivers see you. Use caution when crossing streets and watch out for cars. Inspect all candy to ensure it is not tampered with, prior to consuming it.
