“We set out to build a restaurant and bar that celebrates the history of the building, which was erected in the late 19th century and opened as The Doylestown Inn in 1902,” said Partner Todd McCarty.

The Doylestown Inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and notable guests include Henry Ford, Pearl S. Buck, Dorothy Parker, Henry Fonda and James Michener. Legend has it that Oscar Hammerstein II composed the lyrics for the Broadway musical South Pacific during a stay at the inn, according to information from the restaurant.
