Three Bucks Residents Headed to Trial for Alleged Gay Couple Beating

Three Bucks County residents who have been charged with their involvement in an alleged attack of a gay couple in September are headed to trial.

Philip Williams, 24, of Warminster, Kevin Harrigan, 26, of Warrington and Kathryn Knott, 24, of Southampton are charged in connection with an assault on a gay couple in Philadelphia on Sept. 11.

A Philadelphia judge ordered the three held for trial during a hearing Tuesday, The Associated Press reported.

The three are each charged with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of simple assault, two counts of recklessly endangering another person and one count of criminal conspiracy.

According to police, the two men bumped into a crowd of about a dozen young men and women on the 1600 block of Chancellor Street. Reports say that members of the group began to make disparaging remarks about their sexuality before attacking both men. The victims were sent to Hahnemann University Hospital with severe injuries.
