Holicong Middle School Student Earns CB Cares Boomerang Award

The award is given monthly to youth who exemplify developmental assets proven to be instrumental in promoting positive adolescent behavior.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Joey, a student at Holicong Middle School, has been selected by the CB Cares Foundation as its January Boomerang award recipient.

The award is given each month to youth who exemplify the developmental assets proven to be instrumental in promoting positive adolescent behavior and positive reinforcement for children.

“January’s Boomerang quality was service to others and freshman Joey was our unanimous winner,” announced the foundation.

Joey was nominated for providing support and comfort for someone in need and brightening the day for others and helping them feel valued with thoughtful acts.

“He did all this humbly, without being asked, because he knew it was the right thing to do,” said the foundation.

Joey attends Holicong Middle School, plays for the CB East Patriots Football Team (RB, LB, K), Doylestown Rugby Academy and Atlantis Rugby Academy, and is working towards achieving Eagle Scout.

The foundation’s February asset is 'School Engagement.’ The award will be presented to a student who is actively engaged in learning. If you know a young person that exemplifies this quality, submit their nomination at www.cb-cares.org

The foundation is seeking nominations of students in any grade (K-12) who consistently demonstrate the asset of the month. Nominations can be submitted by students, parents, school staff, community members, friends and neighbors. Monthly winners in each age group (K-6, 7-9, 10-12) will be recognized at a ceremony to be held at the Doylestown Borough Hall in June. For the remainder of the school year, the monthly assets are: February, School Engagement; March, Responsibility; April, Positive Peer Influence; and May, Interpersonal/ Cultural Competence.

CB Cares Educational Foundation, in partnership with Doylestown Health, Bucks County Community College, local schools, businesses, and the community, is dedicated to enriching the experience and education of students through innovative learning grants and Developmental Assets-based programs that promote responsible and resilient youth.
