Holiday Events Planned at Fonthill Castle

Fonthill is hosting a series of holiday events and tours.

Winter Wonderland Holiday Decoration Tours, which will be held in the daytime, will go through Sunday, Jan. 4.

“Fonthill’s Winter Wonderland Holiday Decoration Tours feature themed trees, Victorian decorations, Byers’ Choice figurines and greens throughout the house. Trees in each room are themed to express the varied interests of Henry Mercer,” according to organizers.

The cost of the tour is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors (65+), and $6 for youth (6-17).

In addition, there will be evening tours, the Fonthill Holiday Lights Meander and Candlelight Holiday Tours.

The Fonthill Holiday Lights Meander will be on Saturday, Dec.13, from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

“ A departure from the regular daytime guided tours, the Meander allows guests to tour Fonthill’s spectacular rooms to enjoy seasonal decorations, holiday music and light refreshments at their own pace. Docents are on-hand to answer any questions,” organizers said.

Tours are $20 per person and registration is required.

Candlelight Holiday Tours will be held on Saturday, Dec. 27.

:Guests can take this exciting opportunity to walk through 18 of Fonthill’s 44 rooms to learn about Henry Mercer, his decorative tiles, art, life, and passion for collecting, all the while admiring the festive holiday décor,” according to an event announcement.

Tours run from 6:30-9 p.m. and are $15 per person. Registration is required.
