Holy Redeemer Hosting a Free Heart Healthy Expo at Macy's Neshaminy Mall

Holy Redeemer Hospital’s Cardiovascular Center and Macy’s Neshaminy Mall will offer a free Heart Healthy Expo on Saturday, February 6, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Snow date: Feb. 20).

The event is being held to help raise awareness of women’s heart disease – the number one killer of women, according to the American Heart Association. In fact, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).report that almost two-thirds (64%) of women who die suddenly of coronary heart disease have no previous symptoms. For these reasons, it is important for women – and everyone else – to know their risk for heart disease and what they can do to reduce it. Interested people are invited to come learn the facts on Saturday, February 6.

The Heart Healthy Expo will take place at the Holy Redeemer Court located outside Macy’s and will offer consumers a range of health screenings and wellness education, including:

• Ask the Doctor – Valaine Hewitt, MD, Cardiologist, answers your questions
• Blood pressure screenings and information
• Body mass index screenings and nutrition information
• Free hand massages by Blissful Beginnings and Beyond
• Sleep better information from Holy Redeemer Sleep Disorders Center
• Medication evaluation by a Holy Redeemer pharmacist
• Spin the Holy Redeemer Cardiovascular Center Wheel
• Automated External Defibrillator (AED) demonstration and 911 Information by Tri-Hampton Rescue Squad
• Heart Healthy Exercise Information from the Holy Redeemer Health & Fitness Center
• Heart Healthy refreshments

Macy’s will be offering free make-up consultations with Clinique, Estee Lauder and Lancome at Macy’s Mall entrance. In addition, a Macy’s fashion show will take place at 1:00 p.m. (Wear red and receive 20% off Macy’s purchases storewide – 15% off home and jewelry.)
