Intoxicated Man Causes Disturbance: Plumstead Police Report

Police find man parked in the woods smoking weed; theft from vehicle reported.

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Plumstead Township Police Department responded to the following incidents between Dec. 26 and Jan. 1

December 26

  • At 10:03 a.m., officers responded to the area of Summer Hill Dr. for a domestic disturbance with an intoxicated man. When officers arrived both parties were already separated. The complainant told one of the officers that she no longer wanted the individual at her house and requested that he leave. The individual did threaten the complainant’s son, but he did not want to press charges. Officers did inform the individual he was free to leave, which he did without further incident.

  • At 9:07 a.m., a complainant called the station and requested to speak to an officer about a fraud that took place in Detroit. The complainant stated that she received a call from Enterprise that a vehicle was rented in her name from an expired driver’s license. The complainant was provided a victim’s packet and identity theft packet. The officers suggested they do a credit check and call back if they noticed any fraudulent activity on any of their accounts to call back.
  • At 12:26 p.m., while officers were on patrol of Old Easton Road, they noticed a black vehicle parked in the woods behind the Water Wheel. When the officers approached the vehicle, they immediately detected a smell of burnt marijuana. The operator, who was cooperative, handed the officers everything he had in the car and on him at the time. The officers requested the individual perform a variety of field sobriety tests which he performed unsatisfactorily. The officers informed the male that he was unable to drive. Charges are pending.

December 30

  • At 10:03 p.m., officers were patrolling the area of Christopher Day Road when they observed a road sign and debris from a bush in the road. Officers said it was consistent with a vehicle striking it. Officers spoke to one of the residents who said they did hear a noise, but their cameras were not working. A piece of bumper was left on scene, but no vehicles in the vicinity matched the damage. There was no further police action. If anyone has information related to the incident, call PTPD.

  • At 9:54 p.m., officers responded to the area of River Birch Dr. for a theft from a vehicle. When officers arrived and spoke to the complainant, they realized it was a trespassing complainant as an unknown individual tried to gain access to the complainant’s back door. The complainant stated the vehicle had not been driven due to flat tires. The car was looked through, but nothing was taken. This case is still under investigation.
