Kids Castle Named One of 'World's Most Unbelievable Playgrounds'
Red Tricycle, an online publication, has listed Doylestown's Kids Castle as one of the world's most unbelievable playgrounds.

Doylestown’s Kids Castle is one of the world’s most unbelievable playgrounds, according to Red Tricycle, a digital guide for parents.
The local treasure was listed in the online publication’s list of “The World’s Most Unbelievable Playgrounds.”
“Kids Castle is a prime example of what we love about being in a loving community. The entire playground was first funded in 1997 without the use of any tax dollars. Volunteers laid down each plank and nail in order to make kids dreams come true. In September 2013, Kids Castle finally reopened for full-time fun and welcomes knights and princesses ages 5-12,” according to Red Tricycle.

Kids Castle, located in Doylestown Township’s Central Park, is an eight-story wooden playground designed and named by children through an art contest in 1996. In 1997, the Kids Castle Committee, township staff and residents met with architect Bob Leathers to work on refining the initial playground design.
“Thanks to the efforts of over three thousand dedicated volunteers and the generosity of numerous sponsors, Kids Castle became a reality on Sunday, June 22, 1997. All major renovations of the Castle and the surrounding play areas during the past fifteen years have been accomplished through financial support from the community, volunteer work and in-kind donations of goods and services,” Doylestown Township said in a press release.
