“Our theme is great Mexican food and art. We like to serve our food the same way it would be served in the streets of Mexico,” says its website. “And if you ask, our name originated from the Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo, who is a big icon in the Mexican culture.”

Kahlo’s portrait is displayed prominently inside the eatery and graces the cover of its menu. She was a Mexican painter best known for her uncompromising and brilliantly colored self-portraits that deal with such themes as identity, the human body, and death.
