'Life-Threatening' Flash Flooding Possible In Bucks Co., Warning Issued

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, N.J., has issued a flash flood warning for Lower and Central Bucks County in Pennsylvania and Northwestern Mercer County and Southeastern Hunterdon County in New Jersey.

At 2:50 p.m., Doppler radar indicated heavy rainfall occurring across the warned area, the weather service said. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen, with an expected rainfall rate of between 0.5 and 1 inch in 30 minutes.

Additional rainfall amounts of up to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly, the National Weather Service said.

"Life-threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses" is possible, the weather service said.

The Flash Flood Warning continues until 5:30 p.m. for Lower Bucks County and until 7 p.m. for Central Bucks.

Some locations that may experience flash flooding include Trenton, Ewing, Levittown, Langhorne, Wrightstown, Doylestown, Bedminster, Flemington, Chalfont, Tinicum, Pennington, New Hope-Lambertville, Yardley, and Newtown.
