Bike Works Cycling Team To Race At Hometown Bucks County Classic

DOYLESTOWN, PA – After spending the season competing against America's top cyclists, the Bike Works p/b (powered by) Fred Beans Cycling Team returns home for the Bucks County Classic on Sunday, Sept. 13, where local riders will take on national champions, Olympians, and the country's premier professional teams.

The Bucks County Classic is one of America's most prestigious criteriums, challenging riders with a fast, technical 1.2-mile circuit through downtown Doylestown. For the hometown team, it represents an opportunity to race in front of the community that has supported its growth.

"We've raced the best across the country this season, but nothing compares to racing in front of our hometown," said Brian Boger, Team Director. "Every September, we get the chance to show our sponsors, families, friends, and neighbors what their support has made possible."

Building Champions — and Community

Operated by the Delaware Valley Racing Team, Bike Works p/b Fred Beans Cycling Team is a nonprofit dedicated to developing competitive cyclists and promoting healthy, active
lifestyles. The organization supports athletes competing in road, track, mountain bike, and cyclocross racing — from juniors and amateurs to its USA Cycling Domestic Elite Team.

The program has helped develop national and world champions, with several alumni athletes pursuing the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. The team's elite roster at the 2026 Bucks County Classic includes: Colin Fitzgerald (Orefield), Andrew Wolfe (Philadelphia), Chris Meacham (Perkasie), Sean Guydish (Easton), Connor Thompson (Sinking Springs), Alec Smith (New Holland), Troy Sanders (Breinigsville), Ian Witkowski (Elizabethtown), Andrew Dudle (Emmaus), Noah Shumskas (Pipersville) and Gunnar Eichler (Doylestown).

Racing with America's Best

Since earning USA Cycling Domestic Elite Team status in 2017, Bike Works p/b Fred Beans has become one of the Mid-Atlantic's top cycling programs. This season, the team has
competed at marquee events including the Athens Twilight Criterium, Armed Forces Cycling Classic, USA Cycling Pro Road National Championships, and Chicago Grit.

"Seeing more local businesses and supporters behind this team every year has been incredible," said founding elite rider Chris Meacham. "Their support has allowed us to race
across North America, Europe, and South America. The number of local kids who have lined up at the pro races at the Bucks County Classic is incredible.”

The organization also fields a USA Cycling Club Team, giving younger, newer athletes a pathway to elite competition. Many of those riders will compete in the amateur races at the
Bucks County Classic.

Bringing Elite Sport to Downtown Doylestown

Held alongside the Doylestown Arts Festival, the Bucks County Classic transforms downtown into one of the country's best spectator bike races. Thousands of fans line the course as riders battle over some 33 laps of fast corners, steep climbs, and nonstop attacks.

"The atmosphere is incredible," said elite rider Andrew Wolfe. "When you're hurting late in the race, hearing people from our hometown cheering you on makes all the difference."

The Bucks County Classic is free to attend, with racing beginning mid-morning and the professional races taking place throughout the afternoon. Spectators can watch from anywhere along the 1.2-mile course.
