Longtime Doylestown Police Officer Dies

Frank B. "Bucky" Dunlap, Jr. died recently at the age of 65.

 

Frank B. “Bucky” Dunlap, Jr., a life long resident of Doylestown passed away on Wednesday, August 15 at Doylestown Hospital. He was 65. He was the loving husband for 36 years of Maryann Fedorak Dunlap.

Born in Doylestown, Bucky was the son of the late Mary Sobelewski and Frank B. Dunlap, Sr.

Bucky was a graduate of Central Bucks High School, class of 1964 and served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He also was a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

Bucky was an officer with the Doylestown Borough Police Department from 1973 until 1976 and with Doylestown Township Police Department from 1976 until his retirement in 2004.

In addition to his loving wife, Bucky is survived by his son, Frank B. “Bo” Dunlap, III, husband of Meridith and Pappy’s beloved grandchildren: Addison and Isaac, all of Kingsville, MD. He is also survived by his sisters: Mary Ann Alarcon of West Palm Beach, FL and Fran Szabo, of Buckingham and a brother: Joseph Witt (Elizabeth) of Chalfont. He was preceded in death by sisters: Gladys Tweed and Jeanne M. Boop and a brother: Sonny Dunlap.

Relatives and friends are invited to Bucky’s funeral service, 11 a.m., Monday, August 20, 2012, at , 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown where friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

A visitation will also be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, August 19 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bucky’s name may be made to: Gift of Life Family House, 401 Callowhill Street Philadelphia, PA 19123 or to Doylestown Hospital, c/o Development Office, 595 West State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
