Police Arrest City Man For Attempting To Steal Cars In Doylestown

Police said the Philadelphia man attempted to steal two cars from the 200 block of West State Street.

DOYLETOWN BOROUGH, PA — A Philadelphia man faces numerous charges after police said he attempted to steal several cars in the 200 block of West Street on Thursday in Doylestown Borough.

Tajae Jerome Garner, 30, of Philadelphia, was arrested by the Central Bucks Regional Police Department, arraigned on attempted motor vehicle theft charges, and sent to Bucks County Prison.

Police were responding to the parking lot of a grocery store in the 200 block of W. State for an attempted motor vehicle theft in progress when they were informed the suspect had relocated to a gas station at 290 W. State Street and was attempting to steal another vehicle.

When officers arrived, they found Garner engaged in a fight with the owner of the second vehicle. Police issued commands to Garner who then attempted to flee.

Once officers reached Garner, he resisted arrest and disregarded commands, police said.

Garner was taken into custody and transported to Doylestown Hospital for evaluation. Upon
release, Garner was processed and arraigned by Judge Armitage, bail was set at 10 percent of $20,000 with conditions and he was remanded to Bucks County Prison.

He is charged with two counts of motor vehicle theft (F1), robbery by force (F3), unauthorized use of a motor vehicle (F3), receiving stolen property (F3), resisting arrest (M2), and disorderly conduct (M3).
