Man Arrested With Stolen Vehicle; Dog Fight Reported In Plumstead

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — Plumstead Police reported the following incidents and arrests between May 1 and May 4:

Monday, May 1

• At 11:05 a.m., a Plumstead Township resident reported a fraudulent transaction that occurred on his bank debit card. The complainant told police that a fraudulent transaction was made for more than $500. The victim was provided a victim rights packet and the incident is under investigation.

Wednesday, May 3

• At 5:49 p.m., officers responded to Butch’s body shop on Point Pleasant Pike for a suspicious person. When officers arrived on scene, they began to investigate the suspect's vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle, along with the vehicle's displayed registration were stolen out of Philadelphia. Michael McCauley, 40, of Philadelphia was arrested, arraigned and transported to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.

Thursday, May 4

• At 7:39 p.m., officers investigated an animal complaint on Summer Hill Drive. The complainant said that while walking his dog on the opposite side of the street, a large dog got loose and ran across the street and made contact with his dog who sustained injuries. A dangerous dog form was completed and the proper protocol for quarantine following the incident is being upheld.

• At 10:20 a.m., a Plumstead Township resident reported a fraudulent transaction. The complainant related that she received a phone call that advised her she was a victim of identity theft. The complainant purchased $1,000 in gift cards before realizing it was fraudulent. The victim was provided a victim rights packet and the incident is under investigation.
