City Man Faces Charges For Cashing Fraudulent Check At Doylestown Bank
A Philadelphia man is accused of altering and cashing a fraudulent check in Doylestown Borough.

DOYLESTOWN BOROUGH, PA —A Philadelphia man is accused of cashing a fraudulent check at the C&N Bank in Doylestown Borough.
On Dec 13, Jakyn Powell, 20, was taken into custody by the Central Bucks Regional Police Department on an arrest warrant and charged with forgery, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
According to police, on June 26 Powell cashed a $1,752.52 check. A subsequent investigation by the bank showed that the original check, for $52.52, was altered and made out to Powell.

In November, the bank brought the results of its investigation to the Central Bucks Regional Police Department. Once all the investigative material was confirmed by police, a subsequent arrest warrant was issued on Dec. 12 for Powell's arrest.
Powell was taken into custody when he appeared before court on other charges in Montgomery County on Dec. 13. He was transported to police headquarters and arraigned. He was released on $15,000 bail unsecured.
