Man Charged In Warrington With Impersonating Public Servant
Throughout September, police received multiple calls about a man approaching park users and identifying himself as a township employee.
WARRINGTON, PA — A Warrington man has been charged with impersonating a public servant following repeated incidents at Doctor Adams Community Park on Oxford Drive.
On August 11, police were dispatched to the park for the report of a man identifying himself as police and showing a badge. A park user told police that the man had an issue with how children were using the park and was telling people that he is a volunteer with the township.
On Sept. 5 another resident contacted the police and related that a man had yelled at children that the park was closed. The child’s parent approached the man and asked who he worked for. The man refused to answer and instead showed a badge, the parent told police.

On Sept. 14 another person reported that he was sitting in his vehicle when a man approached him and identified himself as a sergeant. The man then shined a flashlight in his eyes and told him he was not permitted to be in the park, the person told police.
On Sept. 16 another resident contacted police and reported that a man yelled at their child for being inside the park and to get out or he would harm them. A parent approached the man and asked for his credentials, police were told. The man then said he was working security for the park and that his badge was at home, the parent told police.

Police determined that the man is not a security officer and does not work or volunteer for
Warrington Township. They have charged him with impersonating a public servant, a misdemeanor.
