Man Threatened Parents With Hammer In Warrington: Police
The man also faces a third degree felony charge for taunting a police dog while he was being handcuffed, authorities said.
WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — A 52-year-old man faces numerous charges after threatening his parents with a hammer during a domestic dispute at their Warrington Township home, according to authorities.
On Feb. 24 at approximately 6:22 p.m., police responded to a domestic disturbance in progress on Wisteria Drive. Police met the parents of Michael Bowen Jr., who reported that their son had placed his hand on his mother's face and began shoving her, knocking her glasses off.
Police said when his father intervened, Michael Jr. turned his aggression toward his father and placed his hand on his father's face shoving him and knocking his hat off.

Police said Michael Jr. then went to the garage and armed himself with a claw hammer and began swinging it at his father. The defendant also stood over his mother as she sat on the sofa, while holding the hammer, saying that he would kill them, police said.
Officers, along with K-9 “Jolie” located the the son in the basement, hiding in a closet. He refused to show himself and was removed from the closet by police, authorities said.

When he was being handcuffed, the man attempted to kick and continuously taunted K-9 “Jolie," police said.
Taunting a police animal in Pennsylvania is a felony of the 3rd degree.
While in a holding cell at police headquarters, the defendant repeatedly kicked the cell door, police said.
The defendant was arraigned before the on-call Magisterial who set bail at $75,000 (10%). He is charged with taunting or tormenting a police dog, possession of an instrument of crime, simple assault and harassment.
Bowen was remanded to the Buck County Correctional Facility after being unable to post bail. It was later discovered that Bowen also has an active arrest warrant from the Upper Moreland Police Department.
