Man Faces Charges For Sending Inappropriate Content To Plumstead Teen

Police said the teen accused the man of sending inappropriate messages via social media and requesting nude photos.

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — A Pottstown man faces numerous charges after sending inappropriate messages via social media and acting inappropriately during a chat with a 13 year old Plumstead Township girl.

On Feb. 14, the 34-year-old man was taken into custody after he surrendered to police.

Police said in Oct. 2022, they received a complaint from a 13-year-old girl who said she was receiving inappropriate messages via a social media platform from an adult male.

Police said the man continued to harass the girl by Facetime and on multiple occasions requested the juvenile send him inappropriate images of her body.

During one of many phone chats, police said the man was observed masturbating during the chat.

Plumstead Township detectives investigated the complaint and were able to identify the man who was sending the messages and making the phone calls.

He was arraigned before Magisterial District Justice Gary Gambardella on one count of sexual abuse of children (solicitation), unlawful contact with a minor, criminal use of a communication facility, corruption of minors and harassment. Judge Gambardella set bail at 10 percent of $250,000 and remanded him to the Bucks County Prison.

His preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for February 27.
