Man Faces Felony Retail Theft Charges In Plumstead Township

Police say the man​ walked into the Giant with three others, grabbed hand baskets, loaded them with merchandise and left without paying.

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — A man is facing felony charges after police say he and three other men stole more than $1,000 worth of merchandise from the Giant store at Cross Keys Place.

The incident happen on March 12 at 10 p.m.

Police Karsheam Simpkins walked into the store with three other men, grabbed hand baskets, loaded them up with Starbucks cups and tumblers and then exited the store without paying. The value of the stolen merchandise was $1185.83.

Cameras in the area captured images of the vehicle used in the theft and video surveillance obtained from Giant shows the vehicle owner’s son, Karsheam Simpkins, was one of the suspects who committed the theft.

Due to the value of the theft, Simpkins was charged with felony retail theft along with driving while his operating privileges were suspended.
