Doylestown, PA – February 22, 2022 – Meghan’s Foundation, Bucks County-based non-profit Veteran’s support organization, is pleased to announce that it was awarded a $2,500 grant donation from the Patriot Fund, Inc. The donation will help support Meghan’s Foundation’s trauma-sensitive yoga and meditation program at its newest location at VFW Post 6393 in Yardley, PA, along with its other locations.

Meghan’s Foundation provides a free, trauma-specific yoga and meditation program (VEMA Yoga) to Veterans, Active-Duty Service Members, and their families. VEMA Yoga was designed by Meghan’s Foundation specifically for those who may be experiencing symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). These unique classes are appropriate for all ages and levels of physical ability and experience. In-person classes are available in Bristol, Doylestown, and Yardley. Its Philadelphia class is temporarily online. Other online classes are also available. View the full class schedule here.

“Meghan’s Foundation is very excited to be working with the Patriot Fund to support local Veterans, Service Members, and their families,” said Maureen Shortt, CEO of Meghan’s Foundation. “This generous donation will allow us to provide our specialized yoga and meditation classes to as many local Veterans as possible at our new Yardley location, throughout Bucks and Montgomery Counties, and Philadelphia,” said Shortt.

The Meghan’s Foundation staff has seen first-hand the benefits yoga and meditation can have on Veterans who show symptoms of PTSD. Its professional instructors undergo trauma-specific training, and its customized classes provide a safe environment to help Veterans experience the benefits of yoga and mindful meditation. Students are encouraged to participate at their own pace, and the instructors offer variations of every posture.

Donations and sponsorship of all levels are welcome. Donations can be made in the donor’s name or in honor of someone else. Donors can also invite a Veteran or Active-Duty Service Member to attend a class. Details are available at meghansfoundation.org/donate.
