Members Of The PA Ballet To Perform In Doylestown

Six members of the Pennsylvania Ballet will share the stage with dancers from Budzynski Ballet Theater in two local performances this month.

Members of the Pennsylvania Ballet will perform "Coppelia" this month in Doylestown alongside dancers from Budzynski Ballet Theater.

Two performances will be held on May 21 at Central Bucks South High School, 1100 Folly Rd, Warrington.

"While it has been a long held tradition for Marilyn Budzynski’s students to get to share the stage with outstanding professional dancers, this year’s production is simply jam packed with guest artists that you rarely get to see perform locally," according to an event announcement.

Alexandra Kochis and Christopher Budzynski will dance the lead roles in the production. Both are former dancers with Boston Ballet and have performed as principle dancers with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre for the past 11 years.

The story of "Coppelia" involves a jealous young girl, Swanhilda, who accidentally witnesses her sweetheart, Franz, flirting with a new girl only to find out later that this “new girl” is actually a doll.
