Miss Ellen Needs Our Help!
Fundraiser for Former Children's Bookstore Owner and Doylestown Icon, Ellen Mager

Local families will be hosting an art show fundraising event for Ellen Mager on Friday November 3 from 7pm - 9pm and Saturday November 4 from 12 - 2pm at the Central Bucks Senior Center, 700 N. Shady Retreat Rd, Doylestown.
The Art Show will feature Ellen’s collection of original illustrations and signed works of art by many award-winning children’s book illustrators including: Lee Harper, Ted and Betsy Lewin and Jerry Pickney! All proceeds will go to helping pay Ellen’s medical costs and other bills.
Ellen, who owned Doylestown’s beloved Booktenders’ Secret Garden Children’s bookstore for 35 years, has always been an unstoppable force who came to know each of her in-store customers personally.

“She has been a part of my own children’s lives for the past 16 years”, says Cheryl Castro, who is helping lead the fundraising efforts, “they have the most wonderful memories of her bookstore, and of leaving with more books than their little arms could carry. Miss Ellen always knew exactly what books they’d love. That kind of personalized experience is irreplaceable and not something found in today’s world- we were so lucky to get to have it!”
If you cannot make it to the show, the gallery of art pieces will be up online soon at missellensillustrations@shopify.com. Or, if you’d just like to offer a donation, thank you- any amount helps! Venmo: @Ellen-Mager-1
