What a difference a few months make.

At the time, we quoted a Bain & Co. report that only 3 percent of U.S. grocery spending took place online, but certainly COVID-19 is driving that number skyrocketing. And today, even Panera Bread jumps into the act, announcing grocery delivery along with their own menu items.

Today, the aisles of the Doylestown ACME, GIANT, and Weis stores are more full with mobile order packers than actual customers, and reports are that Instacart, Peapod, and Shipt can require as much as two weeks notice for a delivery.
