Theft Of Professional Motocross Bikes Leads Plumstead Police Report
Police also investigated several cases of fraud, made three arrests for suspected DUI, and responded to a verbal altercation.
PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Plumstead Police Department reported the following incidents between January 8 and January 14:
January 8
- A Plumstead Township resident reported a fraudulent transaction. The resident told police that he received a new debit card from his bank and before he used it an unauthorized transaction occurred for $179.07. The complainant’s bank took all necessary steps to cancel the transaction.
- At 2:15 p.m., officers received a report of a dog bite incident. A resident told police that at the time of the incident, she was standing in the doorway of the dog owner’s home and the dog bit her hand causing puncture wounds. She was made aware that the dog had also bit her juvenile son on an earlier date. The resident sought medical attention. The case is under investigation.

- At 4:10 p.m., officers received a harassment complaint. Officers talked to a woman who said that her husband’s ex-wife continually sends text messages and enters the home without permission. The officers informed both parties to stop all communication with one another.
- At 5:51 p.m., officers were dispatched to Silo Hill Road for a criminal mischief report. When officers arrived, they were met by a man who said the tires on his wife's vehicle had been punctured. The man was provided with a victim’s right packet and was asked to provide the repair of the tires and to call the police if there was any more suspicious activity.
January 11
- At 6:45 p.m., officers responded to Summer Hill Drive for a theft report. When the officers arrived, they met a man who said that someone gained access to his garage and stole two sets of golf clubs. The value of the clubs is estimated at between $6,000 and $7,000. The incident is under investigation.
- At 9:51 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Silo Hill and Easton Road for a speeding/reckless driver. Officers found a vehicle matching the description that was provided by the complainant. When officers approached the driver, they immediately smelled the odor of alcohol. The driver presented with glassy/bloodshot eyes and was unsteady on his feet. The driver was unable to satisfactorily perform a field sobriety test. Officers arrested Thomas Posner, 46, of Dresher for driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood alcohol results.

- At 12:49 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Giant Food store on Swamp Road for a verbal altercation in progress. When officers arrived, they met with an employee who pointed out the men that were involved. Officers approached the men and informed them they had to leave the store.
- At 4:06 p.m., officers received a call for an identity theft report. A man told police that he received a couple of credit cards and applications in his name for which he did not apply. He contacted all his banks to freeze his cards and took the necessary steps to file an FTC Identity Theft report. Officers emailed an ID theft packet.
January 13
- At 7:59 p.m., officers responded to the area of Groveland Road for a burglary. When officers arrived, they met with a man who said that his son discovered that his professional motocross bikes had been stolen. Officers inspected the area where the bikes were and found the door handle to the garage had been bent and the windows to the garage were open where entry may have been made. The case is under investigation.
- At 11:11 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Old Easton Road for a single-vehicle accident. When officers arrived, they found a GMC Savanna van in a yard after hitting a fence. When officers approached the vehicle to talk to the driver, the driver exited the vehicle and was unsteady on his feet. Police said he showed signs of impairment with bloodshot eyes and the smell of alcohol from his breath. The driver consented to a breathalyzer; the results were above the legal limit. Officers arrested Nahum Chicas-Ochoa, 30, of Doylestown for driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood alcohol results.
January 14
- At 6:45 a.m., officers responded to the area of North Easton Road for a traffic accident. Officers arrived and observed a white F150 on the side of the road with damage to the vehicle. When officers approached the vehicle to speak with the driver they noticed a smell of alcohol and said the driver had a difficult time telling the officers where he was coming from and going to. The officers had the driver perform a field sobriety test and take a breathalyzer. The driver was unable to satisfactorily perform the test and the breathalyzer was above the legal limit. The officers arrested Benjamin Walkusky, 25, of Doylestown for driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood alcohol results.
