Nationally Acclaimed Bucks Vegan Restaurant Launching Weekend Brunch

The weekend brunch will feature vibrant, satisfying dishes, with a mix of familiar favorites and more unique, vegetable-forward offerings.

POINT PLEASANT, PA — Dharma Bums in Point Pleasant will begin serving brunch this weekend, adding new dishes and cocktails while opening earlier on Saturdays and Sundays.

According to owner Stephen Trachtenberg, the nationally acclaimed, award-winning vegetarian restaurant will open at 11 a.m. both days and offer brunch until 3 p.m.

Trachtenberg said the restaurant, located 15 minutes from Doylestown and New Hope, will continue to serve its current menu during those hours and will add a separate brunch menu chock full of new dishes and introduce several new cocktails.

“We wanted our brunch menu to reflect what Dharma Bums does best—fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere,” said Trachtenberg, “The dishes are vibrant and satisfying, with a mix of familiar brunch favorites and more unique, vegetable-forward offerings. Diners can expect bright, layered flavors, a mix of comforting and unexpected dishes, and plenty of options that feel nourishing and indulgent."

Brunch menu items include the Tamarind Pineapple Waffle, made with cornmeal, cornflake crunch, miso maple mascarpone, and tamarind caramel. Other dishes include Dharma Grits with Anson Mills white grits, black garlic mushroom xo, chili crisp, and a split brown butter biscuit, with a fried egg available as an add-on and vegan and gluten-free options available by request.

The new menu also features Rellenos, a red pepper filled with farm egg soft scramble, gochujang “gazpacho,” goat cheese mornay and sticky rice cake. Blue Corn Johnny Cakes come with dried blueberries, warm brown-butter maple, miso-spiked mascarpone, fresh berries and lemon curd, and are available gluten-free by request. And Cherry Steel Cut Oatmeal includes dark cherry compote, date caramel, cocoa dukkah and citrus coconut yogurt. It is available as a vegan or gluten-free dish.

"Our menu at Dharma Bums is rooted in bold, vegetable-forward flavors with a global influence," said Tracktenberg. "We’re using ingredients like tamarind, miso, gochujang, and black garlic to reinterpret classic brunch dishes that are both familiar and a little unexpected. As always, our food is meant to be approachable and expressive."

New brunch cocktails include a Umami Bloody Mary and Yuzu Mimosa.

"We will continue to offer our regular menu during brunch hours, weekends from 11 to 3, and our outdoor, dog-friendly courtyard makes it an ideal daytime spot,” said Tracktenberg.
