New Britain Officers Recognized With Merit Commendations
Central Bucks Regional Police Chief Karl Knott presented the merit awards for assisting with a call in Chalfont Borough.

NEW BRITAIN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Central Bucks Regional Police Department recently presented merit commendations to New Britain Township officers Zielinski and Gonzalez.
On Thursday, June 22, at approximately 12:59 p.m., the Central Bucks Regional Police Department was dispatched to Chalfont Collision at 74 Park Avenue to investigate a man in a silver
Nissan Altima with a gun pointed to his head followed by the sound of a gunshot.
New Britain Officer Zielinski responded to the area and located the Nissan in the rear of the complex. He began communicating with the vehicle’s driver as Central Bucks Regional Officer DiBenedetto and New Britain Officer Gonzalez arrived and secured covered positions.

With their training and experience, Officer DiBenedetto, Officer Zielinski, and Officer Gonzalez were able to intervene in a potentially volatile situation and bring it to a safe and successful conclusion while honoring the dignity of the individual involved, said Central Bucks Regional Police Chief Knott.
