New Britain Township Police Plan DUI Enforcement Wave This Weekend
Police urge anyone who plans on drinking or taking medications that may impair their ability to drive safely to stay at home.
NEW BRITAIN TOWNSHIP, PA — Throughout Super Bowl Weekend, officers from the New Britain Township Police Department will be out on patrol looking for drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
"The department reminds the public that impaired driving is not just from alcohol," police said. "Some prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs may also interfere with driving. Also, while medicinal marijuana use is legal in Pennsylvania, driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal."
Anyone who plans on drinking or taking medications that may impair their ability to drive safely, should consider staying at home or using a designated driver, said police.
