New Display Featured at Doylestown Library

The Maasai Cultural Exchange Project is the featured display case in the Doylestown Branch of the Bucks County Free Library.

During the month of January, the Maasai Cultural Exchange Project will showcase educational information about the indigenous East African culture inside the Doylestown Branch of the .

The display, which focuses on educational information about the Maasai people of southern Kenya and northern Tanzania, includes jewelry, carvings and more, according to a press release.

"We enjoyed putting this display together to share our message of the Maasai: Water—Education—and Empowerment," said Phyllis Eckelmeyer, the program's co-founder.

The project raises funds to support digging wells to provide clean and reliable water and to provide school fees for the education of women and children, according to the project's website.

To view the display, visit the library anytime from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday or 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
