New Hope Event Raises $115K To Fight Childhood Cancer
Saturday's event was held in honor of three local children — Ethan Toohey, Robert Nagg and Dominic Liples — who passed away from cancer.
A local St. Baldrick's Foundation event Saturday in New Hope raised nearly $115,000 to fight childhood cancer.
The event, held at New Hope-Solebury Upper Elementary School, specifically honored three local children — Ethan Toohey, Robert Nagg and Dominic Liples — who have passed away from cancer.
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a organization that raises money for childhood cancer research. It coordinates signature "head-shaving" events, where volunteers can "go bald” in solidarity with kids fighting cancer. Participants raise money to support childhood cancer research as part of their commitment to shave their heads.

The family and friends of Doylestown's Dominic Liples raised more than $50,000 during Saturday's event. Dominic passed away in December at the age of 8 after a battle with brain cancer. The money raised by Team Dominic will towards fighting Glioblastoma and high grade gliomas. If you'd like to participate, donations can still be made by clicking here.
In addition to the head shaving, the event featured music, carnival games, food, silent auction, raffles, guest speakers and more.
