​New Jersey Man Pleads Guilty In Bucks County Stabbing Death

DOYLESTOWN, PA — A 22-year-old man charged in the June 2021 stabbing death of a New Jersey man in Upper Bucks County pleaded guilty in Bucks County Court on Monday, Oct. 2.

Anthony Joel Gamble, of Somerset, N.J. pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and criminal conspiracy to commit robbery before Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey L. Finley. His brother, Joshua David Gamble, 19, of Somerset, pleaded guilty last year to robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, theft, tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, and abuse of a corpse.

Both will be sentenced in November.

The brothers are accused of robbing and killing Kevin Rosero, 26, of Somerset, N.J., who was found stabbed to death just after midnight on June 17, 2021, in a wooded area in the 500 block of East Pumping Station Road in Richland Township.

An investigation began on June 17 when Pennsylvania State Police Troopers spotted what appeared to be a disabled Subaru with its blinkers activated on East Pumping Station Road, north of Heller Road. A second vehicle, an Audi A5 with Florida plates, was parked 100 feet from the Subaru.

As the troopers investigated, they saw a man, later identified as Joshua Gamble, lying on the ground in a nearby wooded area. Blood was found on Joshua Gamble’s shoes, and he was wearing a plastic-coated work glove on his left hand. He was also in possession of a Subaru key fob, which was stained with blood.

Troopers later detained Anthony Gamble after hearing him running through the woods near them. He also had blood on his shoes, as well as his shirt. Two work-type, coated gloves were found in his pants pockets.

As the investigation continued, police located a substantial amount of blood inside the Audi and requested backup. Police entered the woods and found the body of the deceased man, a short distance away from where Joshua Gamble had been lying and where the Audi was parked. It appeared that the man had been dragged to the location.

The deceased man was later identified as Rosero. An autopsy found that the victim had been stabbed 28 times in the face, neck, upper torso, and upper extremities.

A large, bloodied knife was found on the passenger floor of the Audi. A cellphone and sanitizing wipes were found on the roof of the Audi, and a second cellphone was found inside.

The investigation found that Joshua Gamble purchased the wipes and two sets of coated work gloves from a nearby 7-Eleven store in Richlandtown, about 20 minutes before state police showed up.

An analysis of Anthony Gamble’s cellphone showed searches for “7-Eleven,” “junk yards near me,” and “can soap wash off fingerprints?” An analysis of Joshua Gamble’s cellphone showed a $400 transfer from Rosero’s CashApp account made at 11:20 p.m. on June 16, 2021, 43 minutes before troopers spotted the vehicles and began the investigation.

Following the plea, Deputy District Attorney Monica W. Furber said that the victim’s family is relieved that the Gambles took responsibility for their actions, but it will never bring back their loved one. “They are devastated,” she said.
