New Wawa In Buckingham Gets Thumbs Down From Planning Commission

The Buckingham Township Planning Commission is not keen on plans for a new Wawa on N. Easton Road near Swamp Road.

The Buckingham Township Planning Commission gave the thumbs down to plans for a new Wawa on N. Easton Road near Swamp Road during a meeting on July 17 that was attended by more than 100 residents and business owners, the Bucks County Herald reports. Every member of the commission but one voted against recommending the plan for approval by the Board of Supervisors, the Herald reported.

Wawa is proposing a 5,085-square-foot store with a dozen fueling pumps at the site. The plans also included a controversial redesign of the Swamp Road and Old Easton Road intersection.

The plans will now move on to the Buckingham Township Board of Supervisors for final consideration. The deadline for that board to make a determination is Sept. 30.
