Newcomers Club of Central Bucks Announces 2015-16 Season Kickoff Party

"Fantasy Football in Fall" features tailgate fare and trivia contest

The Newcomers Club of Central Bucks will officially begin its 2015- 16 year with the annual Season Kickoff Party on Saturday, October 24 at 7:30pm. Themed “Fantasy Football in Fall,” the adults-only party will include a trivia contest with prizes. Anyone who is a new resident of the Central Bucks region is welcome to come to make new friends and try out the club. Attendees should sport their favorite team’s jersey or colors, and bring their own beverages and a tailgate appetizer or dessert to share.

Newcomers is a non-profit social, recreational, and community organization established to welcome new residents to the Central Bucks area. For over 30 years the Newcomers Club has been engaged with helping new residents to the area. The club’s mission is to provide information, social activities, and support for members allowing them to start friendships while learning about the community.

Newcomers offers monthly activities that cover a variety of interests, including book club, ladies night out, men’s events, happy hour gatherings and children’s playgroups. One goal of the group is to help members learn about the richness of the Central Bucks area. As such, events are held at a variety of local restaurants, parks, festivals and cultural organizations as well as in members’ homes.

To someone who has recently relocated, Newcomers members are a great source of referrals for everything from new homeowners seeking contractors, to information on preschools, shopping and other local amenities. The club newsletter offers opportunities for advertisers to reach new members of the community as well.

The Newcomers Club also has a community involvement component. Past projects include a canned good drive for the Doylestown Food Pantry, the Angel Tree Christmas gift collection for Bucks County Housing Group, and iPod drive for the Music and Memory project at Wesley Enhanced Living retirement home.
