No Tax Hike In Doylestown Borough's Proposed Budget: Report

This marks the fourth year in a row borough residents' taxes have stayed level, according to reports.

Residents in Doylestown Borough rejoice: the borough's proposed 2016 budget does not include a tax increase, according to the Bucks County Intelligencer.

The proposed $9.13 budget will keep the millage rate at 12.725 mills, according to the outlet, meaning a home with an assessed value of $100,000 will have a $1,272.51 tax bill for the borough.

With the millage rate staying the same as 2016's rate, 2017 would be the fourth year in a row that borough residents have not seen a tax hike, according to the Intelligencer.

The borough will head into 2017 with a fund balance of $10.06 million and expects $8.72 million in revenue in 2017 and $9.66 million in expenditures, giving the borough the $9.13 million budget.

The borough is slated to vote on the proposed budget at a Dec. 19 meeting, the Intelligencer reports.
