NOVA's executive director Barbara Clark announces retirement after 25 years

The board of directors has launched a search for a new leader of victim services organization.

After 25 years of excellent leadership, Barbara P. Clark is preparing to step down in 2016 from her position as executive director of Network of Victim Assistance and the agency is launching a search for a new executive director.

“The Board of Directors is deeply grateful to Barbara for her vision, her passion for NOVA’s mission, and her strategic leadership over more than two decades,” says Karen M. Kern, search committee chair and member of the board of directors. “Her legacy to the board and the community is a vibrant organization.”

The board of directors of the 41-year-old nonprofit victim services organization has launched a search to fill the upcoming vacancy. It has retained the services of Leadership Recruiters, a Philadelphia executive search firm specializing in nonprofit searches, to assist with all aspects of the transition process.

Under Ms. Clark’s leadership, NOVA evolved from being a small nonprofit victim services agency with a budget of $235 thousand in 1991 to a significantly larger, financially sound and nationally recognized victim services organization whose budget surpasses $3.27 million. She has overseen the establishment of permanent headquarters in Jamison and two satellite offices in Fairless Hills and Perkasie; a major capital campaign that exceeded its goal, raising over $2.1 million by its close last October 2014; formation of the Bucks County Children’s Advocacy Center; development of a talented staff dedicated to providing the highest levels of support, counseling, advocacy and prevention education; and creation of a strong fundraising base with a wide network of supporters.

Ms. Clark is a resident of Doylestown.
