Over 100 Cats Rescued From Doylestown Home; Dozens Dead: SPCA

Nearly 200 cats were found in the Doylestown home all told, with the survivors living in "terrible conditions," officials said.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — More than a hundred cats were rescued from a Doylestown home on Tuesday, while dozens more were found dead, according to the Bucks County SPCA.

The cats were found inside a local townhome living in "terrible conditions," officials said.

The total number of rescued cats is estimated at 141, while 59 are believed dead, CBS3 reports.

Many of the surviving cats were in need of medical treatment and were taken immediately to the Bucks SPCA shelter in Lahaska for care.

Details on any arrests or how so many cats came to be living in the house were not immediately available.
