Overturned Liquid Oxygen Truck Blocked 611 For Hours In Plumstead
Firefighters spent nearly nine hours on the scene carefully helping to right the truck, which was carrying liquid oxygen.

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — Firefighters worked for nearly nine hours to carefully right an overturned truck carrying 2,500 gallons of liquid oxygen that flipped over late Tuesday afternoon on northbound Route 611.
Plumsteadville firefighters were dispatched to a hazardous materials call in the northbound lanes of Route 611 near North Easton Road on Tuesday just before 5 p.m. When firefighters arrived, they found the truck overturned on the highway.

"Due to the high flammability of the oxygen, the firefighters worked very carefully, along with tow companies, to get the truck back on its tires," the firefighters wrote on Facebook.
The Plumsteadville firefighters were assisted at the scene by the Point Pleasant Fire Company, Bucks County Special Operations hazmat team, Plumstead Police, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, and Jim Jacobs Towing.

The firefighters were cleared from the scene just before 1 a.m.
North bound Route 611 traffic was forced to exit at Route 313 causing snarled traffic on Route 313 at the height of the evening rush.
