It was a sign referring to Christianity, and asking people to inquire through Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, police said. "The sign was temporary but anchored in the ground by wooden stakes. The stakes were broken and the sign thrown into the brush," police said.

Authorities noted it is not known if the two incidents are related, "but both appear similar. "
