Philly-Area Vendors Sought For Democratic National Convention

The event is scheduled for the week of July 25, 2016.

Philadelphia will host the 2016 Democratic National Convention and organizers are seeking vendors for the event, which will be held the week of July 25, 2016.

“We look forward to working with many of the organizations throughout the Philadelphia region. We are currently collecting contact information to develop our vendor database,” the Democratic National Convention website says.

Vendor categories include computer services, entertainment, florists, graphic design, lighting, photography, legal services, printing, transportation and more. Click here to access the online vendor form.

Organizers are encouraging a diverse array of vendors to apply.

“Diversity and inclusion are important values to the Philadelphia 2016 Host Committee (the Host Committee) for the Democratic National Convention. The Host Committee is committed to diversity in the vendors and contractors we use and we encourage diverse business owners—including those owned by minorities, women, veterans, and members of the LGBT and disabled communities—to register for contract consideration.”Local officials expressed excitement over the decision.

Philadelphia, a historically Democratic city, has not hosted a Democratic National Convention since 1948, Philadelphia Magazine said. The city hosted the Republican National Convention in 2000.

The Republican National Convention will be held the week of July 18, 2016 in Cleveland, Ohio.
