A small plane crashed into a soybean field near the Doylestown Airport on Thursday, Buckingham Township Police said. No one was injured, but the plane is a “total loss,” according to a police report.
Buckingham Township Police say they were dispatched on Thursday around 9 p.m. for a report of a plane crash in the 4100 block of Stony Lane. When officers arrived, they observed a twin engine plane in the soybean field.
The pilot and plane owner said on his second approach at Doylestown Airport, he failed to put down the landing gear. He struck the runway, bending both propellers, and was able to get the plane back up in the air and over the roadway before making a soft landing in the field, police said.

The pilot and his passenger were uninjured. It is believed that the plane is a total loss, Buckingham Township police said.
