Plumsteadville Village Welcomes Shoppers Home for the Holidays

Every dollar spent at a local business returns three-fold to the community.

That’s the idea behind the Local Multiplier Effect, and it’s driving the Plumsteadville Village Business Alliance this holiday season.

The businesses in Plumsteadville Village have been preparing for the holiday season, and Small Business Saturday has brought great visibility to the need to shop local.

The Plumsteadville Village Business Alliance is launching its first-ever holiday theme, “There’s No Place Like Home for the Holidays,” over the Thanksgiving weekend, with road side signs, store notices, and social media campaigns. The theme will also appear in the Plumstead Township Fall/Winter newsletter, being mailed to homes near Thanksgiving.

"Small businesses are the lifeblood of the American economy," said Michael Kane, deputy director for the SBA's Eastern Pennsylvania District Office, in a quote in the Daily Intelligencer (Nov. 14, 2016). "They provide the majority of jobs. We want to encourage folks to patronize small businesses. Small businesses are not only the engines of economic growth, they also give back to the local community."
