WARRINGTON, PA — Officers from the Warrington Police Department held a “Safe Car Stop” seminar on Saturday at Central Bucks South High School for new drivers and their families.

School Resource Officer Robert Bell coordinated the seminar for the Central Bucks community to introduce their new drivers to what they should and should not do in the event they are pulled over by the police.

After a short Power Point presentation in the high school, attendees took part in a question-and-answer session with the officers. The drivers then met out in the parking lot and were put through a simulated traffic stop with officers.

“It is important to educate all new drivers on what to expect if they are pulled over, seeing a car stop from our perspective. We enjoyed meeting everyone and answering their questions,” said Sgt. Hawthorn.

The attendees were directed to a PENNDOT website for young drivers and their families.
