Police Investigate Hit And Run, Retail Thefts In Warrington

Man charged with furnishing alcohol to minors, police make numerous retail theft arrests.

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Warrington Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests in August and September:

September 24

  • Police responded to Walmart for the report of a retail theft. Upon arrival loss prevention told police that a Warminster woman under rang $167.42 worth of merchandise. She then left the area prior to police arrival. A warrant was issued for her arrest and on Sept. 16 she turned herself in. The woman was processed and arraigned by Judge Wertman who set bail at $25,000 unsecured.

September 21

  • Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred on September 21 at about 12:40 a.m. in the 1700 block of Palomino Drive The striking vehicle appears to be a 2016-2017 Honda Accord white in color. The vehicle will have front end damage to the front passenger side.
  • Police responded to Wegmans for the report of a retail theft. Upon arrival loss prevention told police that a woman from Doylestown concealed $233.25 worth of merchandise and then exited the store without paying. The woman was placed under arrest and transported to the station where she was processed and released. She was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen merchandise.

September 20

  • Police responded to Target for the report of a retail theft. Upon arrival loss prevention told police that a Warrington woman stole $107.98 worth of merchandise. The woman left the area prior to police arrival however she was stopped a short time later by police. She was placed under arrest and transported to the station where she was processed and released.

September 14

  • An officer on patrol observed a Horsham woman walk into Jo Ann Fabrics. The officer had prior knowledge that the woman had a warrant for her arrest. The woman was located in the store where she was placed under arrest and her property was searched. The officer located narcotics and drug paraphernalia in an apron and her purse. The woman was transported to the station where she was processed and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.

September 12

  • Police responded to Target for the report of a retail theft in progress. Upon arrival loss prevention told police that a woman from Doylestown picked up a shopping bag and proceeded to fill it with $207.69 worth of merchandise. She then exited the store without paying for the merchandise. The woman was placed under arrest and transported to the station where she was processed and released. She is charged with retain theft and receiving stolen merchandise.
  • Police responded to Target for the report of a retail theft that just occurred. Upon arrival loss prevention told police that an 80-year-old woman from Warrington had concealed $210.55 worth of merchandise and exited the store without paying. Officers located the woman at her residence where she was placed under arrest and transported to the station. She was arraigned by Judge Wertman who set bail at $20,000 unsecured.

September 11

  • Police responded to Wegmans for the report of a retail theft in progress. Loss prevention told police that a Philadelphia man was observed concealing several packs of Red Bull into bags. The man then exited the store failing to pay for the $67.47 worth of merchandise. He was stopped as he was exiting the store and placed under arrest. The man was transported to the station where he was processed and released.

August 12

  • On June 21 police responded to Wegmans for the report of a retail theft not in progress. Loss prevention told police they noticed Red Bull drinks missing from inventory and they began an investigation. On June 18, a man and women entered the store and split up. The woman later identified from Harrisburg selected numerous items including Red Bull and placed them in a cart. The woman then met up with the man a short time later and exited the store failing to pay for the $343.35 worth of merchandise. On August 12, the woman was taken into custody in Deptford, New Jersey.

August 1

  • Warrington Police responded to the 900 block of Scarlet Oak Drive for the report of an underage drinking party. Upon arrival, police located and identified juveniles mostly between the ages of 16 and 18 years old that had consumed alcohol. The juveniles were released to a parent or guardian. The homeowner was located inside the home and was charged with selling or furnishing liquor or malt or brewed beverages to minors.
