Police Investigate Thefts, Arrest Man On Warrant In Plumstead

Other reports included a theft of oil, several identity theft cases and a stolen registration card.

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Plumstead Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Oct. 14 and 18:

October 14

  • At 7:14 a.m., officers responded to Fred Beans on Easton Road for a theft. When officers arrived, they were met by a representative from the business who told police that an oil truck, which did not have permission from the business, was removing oil from a tank located at the business. The business provided police with a photo of the truck while it was parked next to the tank. Officers are also reviewing surveillance footage. The incident is under investigation.

  • At 10:11 a.m., officers responded to Wawa on Easton Road for a retail theft. When the officers arrived, they were met by a store representative who told police that she had witnessed two individuals scan items at the self-check out kiosk but did not provide payment of approximately $23. The officers were able to view surveillance footage and capture the license plate of the suspect’s vehicle. This incident is under investigation.

October 17

  • At 9:27 a.m., officers were patrolling North Easton Road when they observed an individual that they recognized as being wanted by the Bucks County Sheriff's Department. The individual acknowledged that he had a warrant and the officers were able to run his name and verify that the warrant was still active. Officers detained the 53-year-old Norristown man and transported him to the Bucks County Sheriff's Office at their request.
  • At 4:27 p.m., officers were dispatched to Easton Road for a theft. When the officers arrived, they were met by a representative of the business who told police that two unknown individuals came into the store with a big bag. They then heard products being shuffled around and observed the suspects walk out without paying for the items. The employee proceeded to inventory the shelves and confirmed missing items. The worker told police that they would review the surveillance footage with a list of missing items. This incident is under investigation.

October 18

  • At 11:15 a.m., a Plumstead resident reported a theft. The resident told police that she received a call from her bank stating that an individual tried to use her identity and bank information in another state. The bank put a stop to the transaction. The resident provided police with a copy of the driver’s license that was used in the attempted transaction. This incident is under investigation.
  • At 1:52 p.m., a Plumstead resident reported that someone gained access to her vehicle while it was parked at the Giant on Swamp Road and removed her registration card from the glove box. The case is under investigation as officers view security cameras.
