Police Make Arrests For DUI, Counterfeit Cash In New Britain Township

Police also took two offenders into custody for violating protection orders and investigated several fraud complaints.

NEW BRITAIN TOWNSHIP, PA — The New Britain Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Sept. 3 and 26.

September 3

  • Patrol responded to the Giant Food Stores for the report of a retail theft. The detective division identified an offender and they were subsequently charged with retail theft.

  • The patrol division responded to a single-vehicle traffic accident at Swamp Road and Upper Stump Road where the operator of the sole vehicle was found to be impaired. They were taken into custody and charged with DUI.

September 10

  • Officers were dispatched by the Bucks County Children and Youth Services Department to the 100 block of Hunter Way for a protective order violation. The offender was located, identified, and taken into custody for violation of the order.

September 14

  • Members of the patrol division responded to the 700 block of North Limekiln Pike for a protective order violation. The offender was identified and arrested for violation of the order.

September 16

  • Patrol was dispatched to the Giant Food Store at 4275 County Line Road for three suspects passing counterfeit bills for merchandise. The detective’s division identified and charged one of the three actors involved. Two remain outstanding.

September 20

  • The detective’s division investigated fraud after a tax return check was cashed fraudulently. An offender was identified in this case and charged with related crimes.

September 25

  • Officers responded to the 200 block of Cornwall Drive for a fraud investigation with a $10,000 loss. An offender was identified and charged with theft and fraud.

September 26

  • Patrol stopped a vehicle in the area of West Butler Avenue and Schoolhouse Road for motor vehicle code violations. It was determined the operator was driving under the influence. When taking the offender into custody, they actively resisted arrest. The subject was arrested and charged.

During this tour, the patrol unit handled 18 traffic accidents, 13 alarm calls, 59 medical emergencies, 19 abandoned 911 calls, and 406 crime and traffic accident prevention directed patrols. In total, police responded to 830 calls for service.
