Police Make Arrests For Simple Assault, Retail Theft In Warrington

Boyfriend shatters car window during a fight with his girlfriend over money; man demanding money charged with simple assault, police report.

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Warrington Township Police Department reported the following arrests on August 26 and 27:

Monday, August 26

  • Warrington Police responded to the area of the Home Depot for the report of a domestic incident involving a man and a woman. The victim told police that her boyfriend, later identified as a 22-year-old Warrington man, accused her of stealing money from him. He then became upset while she was seated in a vehicle and struck the driver's side window shattering it. The victim told police shards of glass landed on her. The man was placed under arrest and transported to the station where he was charged with simple assault, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct. He was processed and arraigned. Judge Petrucci set bail at $20,000 or 10 percent cash. Unable to post bail, the man was transported to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
  • A 24-year-old man from Patterson, New Jersey, was arrested on August 26 and charged with retail theft, criminal conspiracy, and receiving stolen property for a retail theft that occurred on Feb. 20 at the T.J. Maxx store in Warrington. Loss prevention officers reported that three individuals selected numerous items, cut the security tags off the items, concealed the items, and then exited the store without paying for the merchandise. The total amount stolen was $539.94. Their vehicle was stopped a short time later by Solebury Police and the individuals were identified. A criminal complaint was filed at District Court and on May 7 the man was arrested in Northampton County.

  • Police responded to the 600 block of Warrington Avenue for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, the victim told police that a man, later identified as a 34-year-old Warrington resident, came to his house demanding money. The victim told police that when he told the man he was not giving him money, the man became upset and ripped a phone out of his hand as he attempted to call police. The victim suffered a wound as a result, police said. The man left the area before police arrived. Police obtained a warrant and the man was arrested on August 27 and charged with simple assault and harassment. He was processed and arraigned by Judge Wertman who released him on his own recognizance.
