Police Make Multiple Theft Arrests In Warrington Township
Police make arrests following incidents at three retailers; man charged with theft of services after skipping out on meal tab.
WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Warrington Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between May 24 and June 2:
May 24
Warrington Police responded to Target for the report of a retail theft. A loss prevention officer told police that a 19-year-old woman from Jamison had switched UPC numbers on an item and exited the store. Store officials told police that the woman switched a UPC on a Lego brand Polaroid, which is valued at $79.99, causing the product to be under rung for $9.99. She also had another UPC in her pocket for a Lego Marvel Motorcycle, police said. In addition, police found the woman in possession of a small amount of marijuana. She was arrested and transported to the station where she was processed and released. She is charged with possessing instruments of crime, possession of a small amount of marijuana, and retail theft.

May 25
At approximately 8:16 p.m., police responded to Wegmans for the report of a retail theft. Upon arrival, a loss prevention officer told police that a 54-year-old woman from Hatboro had been detained for retail theft. Loss prevention told police that the woman had selected numerous expensive items and concealed them in a reusable bag. She then selected less expensive items and placed them in a shopping cart. Loss prevention said she also selected a bag of cookies, ate the cookies, and left the bag behind. The woman paid for a few items and failed to pay for the $262.12 worth of merchandise that was concealed in the cart. The woman was placed under arrest and transported to the station. She was processed and released. She is charged with retail theft and receiving stolen merchandise.

May 29
Warrington Police responded to Walgreens for the report of a retail theft. Upon arrival, employees told police that a 31-year-old man from Philadelphia exited the store without paying for merchandise. An investigation revealed that the man had selected $612.76 worth of merchandise
and placed it in a shopping basket. He then walked out of the store while failing to pay for the merchandise. He was located a short distance away at a SEPTA bus stop with the merchandise. During the investigation, police said the man provided false information to the police. He was arrested and transported to the station where he was processed. He was arraigned by Judge Wertman who set bail at $25,000 unsecured. He is charged with retail theft, receiving stolen property and providing false ID to law enforcement.
June 2
At approximately 9:21 p.m., police responded to KC Prime for the report of a theft. Upon arrival staff related that a man had ordered a Budweiser, Prime Grade Porterhouse Steak, and a side of mashed potatoes and left without paying the $121.60 check. The man told the wait staff that he was going to use the restroom and then exited the restaurant without paying. The man, who was last seen riding a bicycle northbound on Easton Road, was located a short time later near the Sunoco in Doylestown. He was found to be impaired while riding his bicycle. He was placed under arrest and transported to the station where he was processed. He was arraigned by Judge Baranoski who set bail at $10,000. The man was unable to post bail and was transported to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
