Police Make Retail Theft, Drug Possession Arrests In Warrington

Police also arrested a man on an outstanding warrant out of Delaware County after he provided police with false identification.

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Warrington Township Police reported the following arrests between April 14 and 30:

April 30

  • A 45-year-old Philadelphia man was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident at the Walgreens store. At 11:41 a.m., police responded to the store for the report of an attempted retail theft. Upon arrival, employees told police that a man had concealed merchandise, but when he was confronted inside the store he dropped the merchandise and left the store. He was located a short time later by police at the Shops at Valley Square. During the interaction with police he discarded a cigarette container that contained narcotics and drug paraphernalia. He was placed under arrest and transported to the station where he was processed and released on possession charges.

  • Three men have been charged with retail theft and possession of alcohol by a minor following an incident at the Wegmans grocery store. Police responded to the store at 5:29 p.m. for the report of a retail theft. Upon arrival, a loss prevention officer told police that three men had been detained for retail theft. The officer told police that the men were observed selecting two six-packs of White Claw and a 12-pack of Truly. They then proceeded to another location of the store where they concealed the alcohol into two backpacks. The three then exited the store without paying for the concealed merchandise. The men included a 20-year-old from Patterson, N.J., an 18-year-old from Pottstown, and a 19-year-old from Baltimore, Maryland. They were transported to the station where they were processed and released. All three were cited for retail theft and underage possession of alcohol.

April 26

  • At 8:39 a.m., Warrington Police stopped a vehicle at Easton and Bristol roads for a motor vehicle violation. During the stop, police said a passenger from Hatboro provided them with a false name and date of birth. Officers were able to identify the man and found that he had an active warrant from Delaware County. He was placed under arrest and transported to the station where he was processed. The man was arraigned by Judge Wertman who set bail at $25,000 of 10 percent cash. He was transported to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.

April 15

  • Police responded to Warrington Crossing Apartments for the report of criminal mischief that just occurred. A witness observed a 25-year-old man from Warrington make burn marks on a wall with a cigarette. The man was cited for criminal mischief.

April 14

  • At approximately 11:08 a.m., Warrington Police responded to Aldi Market for the report of a retail theft that just occurred. Store employees told police that a 59-year-old woman from Warrington had left the store without paying for some merchandise. Police were told the woman checked herself out, but did not ring up all the merchandise in her cart. She had $132.08 worth of merchandise in her cart and only rang up $32.17, employees told police. She was stopped by police a short time later and placed under arrest. She was transported to the station where she was processed and released. She was cited for retail theft.
